Pleasantly Surprised

After reading numerous reviews on the chairs i was a little concerned with the mixed responses. First let me say the price is the best I found. Second the shipping was amazingly fast I think 3 or 4 days total. As far as when they arrived the boxes were a little beat up but the chairs were fine plus the company can't control the shipping once it leaves. The directions were not bad but I am pretty patient and can use a pair of tools. I put them together in about an hour or so and that was while watching tv and sitting on the floor taking my time. The finished product went together fine I personally had no issues with missing hardware holes not lined up and the quality was WELL worth the money. I have only had them outside for a day or two and I personally spent the time to rub them down with teak oil $10 for a can at Home Depot. We also purchased polyester covers that we will keep on the chairs when not in use. I was a little worried about the stain leaching from the chairs based on other reviews so I oiled them and cobvered them but I would do that even if the reviews never said anything about the stain. I did purchase two of these chaise lounges from Amazon. One arrived damaged and I had no problems exchanging it for a new one. I had these lounges on my new paver patio from June through October. they were covered with those green plastic covers.



A few things observed:

After a few months the sliding tray failed to slide out.

One of the dowels that hold up the back of the chair had cracked and fell apart.

My patio was stained with the orange dye used to make these chairs appear to be teak.



I emailed Amazon and explained the situation. I have to commend Amazon for REFUNDING ME ENTIRELY for my purchase and for the SHIPPING too after having these chaise lounges for over 6 months. I received a refund for $239.98. Also they gave me a $20 credit for my trouble.



Point is the manufacturer is producing a terrible product and Amazon has had to deal with it.



In one of the emails Amazon wrote to me and implied that they were not going to continue selling this product. Obviously they have not done that.



So word to the wise do not buy these chairs. They look to be of high quality but are far from that. And I wish you luck in getting your refund too.More detail ...

Without question these chairs meet all my expectations. The price/quality rating is 8+. Living in a tropic location we could not find anything comparable to this. When they say large they mean LARGE. It was exactly what I was looking for. It will protect the chair and the cushions. Thus saving me from having to purchase a large enough storage bin to put the cushions in.More detail ...

Not a hammock

Ok so I ordered this naively. Those of you liked this product have never laid in a hammock. There is this incredible womb-like property a hammock has mostly because the material of the hammock assumes your shape and because of that heady swaying motion that almost on contact transports you to a warm fuzzy place. This is not that. This is a cot. The material is a hard resin with no give and more importantly there are four points of contact not the two that a hammock traditionally has i.e. NO SWAY whatsoever. I was soooo disappointed. Nicely made but it's a nicely made cot not a hammock. I wouldn't say it's even remotely like the experience of laying in a hammock. More detail ...

How to read the sizes

The cover is very nice but I had to return it because of the size. Here is the information you need to know which was not in the listing. When it says "for a table up to 88" long" that really means "for a table plus the overhang for the chairs up to 88" long". In other words don't measure your table. Put the chairs next to the table and measure the whole thing including chairs. My table is 65" and this was not large enough.

worked well

I needed two ten foot benches to fill an area on my patio. I purchased 3 sets of bench ends and used 3 bench ends per bench 1 on each end and 1 in the middle. It worked really well. The product specifies to use 2 x 4's for bench seat back and supports but I used 5/4" cedar decking for the seat and back and used 2 x 4's for the supports. This is a very reasonable cost way to have a lot of seating.More detail ...

As good as Restoration Hardware's chairs!!

I just received my two chairs! I just placed an order for two more! I did a ton of research on patio lounge chairs - pricing quality etc. These chairs stand head to toe with restoration hardware crate & barrel pottery barn. They are the perfect weight.. not too heavy not too light.

They look VERY expensive. WOW - sometimes I think these review are written by the manufacturer because they can be so glowing at times.. but I am just a customer so pleased that I got these and that they are this great. I was prepared to spend $555 per chair from Restoration Hardware.. but I got two for less than the price of one. Only other thing I would add though.. the cushions are not fantastic. I am thinking about ordering more comfortable ones with the all the money I saved.More detail ...

Good idea good product

I just finished assembling a 2x4basics AnySize Bench 11200 and am very happy with it. The bench assembly took a little longer than I thought it would. I think I worked on it for about two hours. I wasn't counting on having to drill pilot holes for the dozens of screws (included) that had to be used putting the bench together. Nor did I figure on spending so much time figuring out how to best sink the screws into the underside of the boards. Don't worry about slanting the screws into the wood a bit. It is impossible to get a drill into a perfect position for making a 90 degree hole. Most of the screws do not show anyhow.



It was necessary to tip the bench over in order drill pilot holes and to get at the screws. I had to clamp the 2x4's to the plastic/composite ends to keep them from falling off or moving out of position. I would recommend using a couple of small carpentry clamps to hold things in place while putting the bench together.



I had the 2x4's sanded and painted prior to attaching them to the plastic/composite ends so that took a little time but probably not more than an additional hour. That probably saved time in the long run. Making this bench with the 2x4 basics kit is not a difficult project.



The 2x4 basics bench is solid and not all that heavy but it isn't going to blow over in a high wind. I am quite satisfied with how the bench came out and somewhat surprised at how substantial it is. I thought it might twist and perhaps wiggle side to side--nope it is a rock.



I am so pleased with this approach to building patio furniture that I will be recommending the product to friends.

It is worth the price.

It is value for your money.The chair is very comfortable and reclines as expected.The only problem was it came without instructions.The shipping box looked like it had to fight a cyclone.

You have to look for the small circular ring under the armrest to adjust the recliner and lock it by lifting it up when the desired position is attained.

Not as great as the 300$ recliners.But definitely worth 60$.More detail ...
